I got to know the day before [the attack] that either in Wazirabad of Gujrat, they planned to kill me," Dawn quoted Imran Khan as saying. "I was hit by 4 bullets." "Four people planned my assassination in a closed room. I made a video and kept it. I have told that if anything happens to me, then the video should be released," Imran Khan added. Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party members protested the attempted murder on Friday in various cities. Imran Khan was spearheading a protracted march to Islamabad's capital to put pressure on the administration to grant his demand for new elections. Three persons have been arrested by the police thus far. Imran Khan's attacker, Naveed Mohammad Basheer, was arrested on Thursday near the scene of the crime. He eventually admitted to trying to kill Imran Khan to the police because "he was trying to mislead the public."
