Imran Khan's detention sparks violent protests and army defections, six top officers turn hostile

Imran Khan: Since Imran Khan, a former prime minister, was detained in a corruption case, Pakistan has been on fire. Vehicles, structures, and workplaces are being set on fire in a number of streets in protest of Imran Khan's detention. The members of Imran's party and their followers frequently vandalise public property. There has reportedly been a violent uprising even within the Pakistani Army. Six top Army officers have defected to the government and the Pakistani Army chief. A veteran Pakistani Army commander made this assertion.

Six lieutenant generals have publicly opposed the head of Pakistan Army

In a tweet, Major Adil Raja (Retd) of the Pakistan Army claimed that six lieutenant generals had openly disagreed with Asim Munir, the head of the Pakistan Army, and the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). Adil Raja claims that the Pakistan Army's Asif Ghafoor, Asim Malik, Nauman Zakaria, Saqib Malik, Salman Ghani, and Sardar Hasan Azhar publicly oppose Asim Munir and the PDM. He added that Pakistan is reportedly in for a very difficult 48 to 72 hours.

Imran Khan's Party Accused of Attacking Army Officer's Home

Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, and 1,500 members of his party have been accused by the Punjab police of attacking and torching a senior army officer's home in Lahore. Supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief attacked the General Headquarters of the Army on Wednesday after becoming incensed at their leader's arrest in a corruption case on Tuesday. They attacked military equipment and installations and set fire to the Lahore Corps Commander's home.
