According to reports, the disturbing incident unfolded on June 20 in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district. Allegedly, the woman had fled from home with a man, prompting the violent retaliation captured in the viral video.

Police Action and Arrest

According to media reports, senior police officer Manoj Kumar Singh and his colleagues moved quickly after the video went viral, locating the scene and the people involved. Noor Singh, the primary suspect, was taken into custody as a result of their inquiry. The woman's complaint has resulted in a case being registered, with ongoing efforts to locate other individuals involved in the assault.

Political Reaction and Public Outcry

State Congress chief Jitu Patwari responded to the event by expressing serious concerns about women's safety in Madhya Pradesh under the current government. He cited figures showing the state to be the highest in crimes against women and criticised the performance of the BJP-led administration in addressing these cases. Inquiring about the occurrence, Patwari questioned Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, calling for a prompt and unbiased inquiry to guarantee the victims' rights.
