The viral video, shared by an X account called “@WeUttarPradesh,” has stirred strong reactions. Reportedly, the incident began when the young man, while jogging, accidentally brushed against the police constable’s elbow. The officer, enraged by this, reacted by slapping the youth, showcasing his authority in uniform. The young man was then taken to the police station on the officer’s bike. The video has quickly spread across social media platforms, prompting public outrage.

Netizens Condemn 'Abuse of Power'

After the viral video surfaced, netizens voiced strong criticism. Comments poured in, with users condemning the constable’s behavior. One user remarked, "Such police personnel tarnish the image of the police and government. Strict action is needed." Another added, "These policemen are misusing their government positions, which affects their reputation and public trust." A third user commneted, "Vyavhaar karna sikhao inko." While a fourth user wrote, "Sir, why is this police hooliganism increasing so much?"

Hathras Police Orders Departmental Enquiry Following Public Backlash

In response to the viral video, Hathras Superintendent of Police issued an official statement, confirming that departmental action is underway against the constable. “The Superintendent of Police Hathras has initiated action against the constables involved. A preliminary investigation by the City Area Officer is ongoing, and legal action will follow shortly,” the statement read.
