Viral Video: Age can be just a number for many, especially when passion is concerned. On a similar note, In northern Illinois, a 104-year-old woman from Chicago aiming to secure the title of the oldest person to complete a skydive by leaving her walker behind embarked on a jump from a height of 13,500 feet.

Dorothy Hoffner, the 104 year old woman, speaking to an enthusiastic crowd moments after her dive at Skydive Chicago in Ottawa on October 1, said, "Age is just a number." Hoffner embarked on her first skydiving adventure at the age of 100. During her recent jump, she left her walker near the plane, a Skyvan, and received help to climb the steps and join fellow skydivers inside.

Her first skydiving experience required help to exit the aircraft, but this time, determined to a certified US Parachute Association instructor, she took the lead in the jump from 13,500 feet (4,100 meters). Notably, in May 2022, the Guinness World Record for the oldest skydiver was achieved by 103-year-old Linnea Ingegard Larsson from Sweden. Nevertheless, Skydive Chicago is actively pursuing certification of Dorothy Hoffner's jump as a new Guinness World Record.

The skydive adventure lasted approximately seven minutes, encompassing the gradual descent using her parachute. As she came down, the wind gently pushed back Hoffner's white hair. She held onto the harness over her slender shoulders, lifted her legs, and gracefully touched down onto the grassy landing area. The viral video of this jump has crossed millions of views within just a few days.
