The 23-second trending video was published on Twitter on December 21. In a video, students in a classroom can be seen sobbing after learning that the Taliban have banned female education. According to accounts, armed forces were stationed outside educational facilities all around the country in large numbers, and female students were requested to leave. Oh, the respected people, support, support. Rights for everyone or no one!," Chanting was heard from the demonstrators in Kabul. A protester claimed during the gathering that just a small number of females had been detained; nevertheless, two of them had already been freed. Nearly two dozen ladies wearing hijabs were observed protesting in the streets while waving their hands and yelling slogans. As the prohibition was imposed less than three months after many female students were allowed to sit for university admission tests, people were shocked. Journalism student Wahida Wahid Durani from the University of Herat claimed, "Afghan girls are a dying people… they are crying blood. They are fighting us with all of their might. I worry that they'll eventually declare that breathing is forbidden for women. The Taliban administration has placed numerous restrictions on Afghan women since taking office.
