Alexander Wong, an AI researcher who contributed to DarwinAI's development, joined Apple as a director in its AI group as part of the acquisition, according to the article. Numerous Darwin AI staff members currently work for Apple's AI group.

What is Apple planning to do?

Cook did not disclose the specific plans the company has for 2024, but he did imply that AI will be a key area of concentration. Apple may be developing its native foundation model, known as AppleGPT, according to certain speculations. AI-generated playlists for Apple Music, AI integration into Apple's productivity tools like Pages and Keynote, and an improved Siri that can act as a chatbot similar to ChatGPT and Google Gemini are among the other capabilities that are expected to be included.
