POLITICS Swami Prasad Maurya Sparks Controversy with Remarks on Hinduism and Ramcharitmanas Neha Kumari Aug 28, 2023 18:09 GMT Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya has once again stirred controversy with his recent comments about Hinduism. In these remarks, he has described Hinduism as "deceitful" and "a hoax." This statement has ignited a strong reaction on social media, with some individuals criticizing him for promoting animosity. Maurya pointed out that a significant number of people have either not read or chosen not to read Ramcharitmanas. He also attributed Dalits' access to literacy and women's educational rights to the British colonial period. In that earlier instance, Maurya went on to express his dismissal of Ramcharitmanas as a whole, considering it to be nonsensical. He called upon the government to either remove the objectionable portions from the text or ban the entire book. Ramcharitmanas, an epic poem written in the Awadhi language, draws from the Ramayana and was composed by Tulsidas, a Bhakti poet from the 16th century. Keep watching our YouTube Channel ‘DNP INDIA’.
