Noida News: Good News for Buyers of Unitech Housing Projects After 12 Years

Noida News - In a major relief for buyers of Unitech's housing projects, the Noida Authority has finally approved the building plans for 10 of these projects after a long wait of approximately 12 years. This approval paves the way for construction to resume on these projects. The plans were approved following a directive from the Supreme Court.

Good News for Buyers of Unitech Housing Projects After 12 Years

For the past 4-5 years, the Noida Authority had been refusing to approve the building plans, citing unpaid dues from Unitech. Despite the government appointing a board to oversee the progression of Unitech's projects, the lack of approved plans had stalled any significant progress, leaving buyers who booked their homes over a decade ago in limbo.

The Noida Authority had initially allocated land to Unitech in sectors 96, 97, 98, 113, and 117 in the years 2006-07. However, a few years after the land allocation, Unitech ceased payments for the land, causing their dues to the Authority to accumulate. Subsequently, Unitech's chairman and other officials faced legal troubles, resulting in jail time. To address the issues faced by flat buyers, the government had appointed a board for Unitech’s projects.
