Man, dressed as advocate, throws shoe at Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya, Supporters thrash him | Watch

Swami Prasad Maurya: Following an incident where a guy reportedly threw a shoe at Swami Prasad Maurya, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), the man was brutally beaten by Maurya's followers in Lucknow. During the OBC Sammelan that was taking place here, the man who was acting as an advocate hurled a shoe at the SP leader before being pulled and beaten by a mob of Maurya's followers. Additionally, while they kicked and slapped the victim, the workers yelled "Swami Prasad Maurya Zindabad."

Swami Prasad Maurya supporters thrash the man

The shoe did not touch Maurya, but the man who threw it faced brutal assaults on him. Swami Prasad Maurya remained unaffected, while his supporters swiftly took action against the man. He was subjected to severe beating, with some of Maurya's supporters kicking and punching him relentlessly. ACP Vikram Singh said, "he accused was taken to hospital. Further details will be known after probing him."

Police officers can be seen attempting to push away the crowd of supporters in the footage, who were adamantly refusing to stop. The man fainted in the ground after the assaults on him. In response to the incident, OP Rajbhar, president of the SBSP, criticised the Samajwadi Party, alleging that SP had deceived the backward people in Uttar Pradesh during its control.

As per reports, it's noted that the Samajwadi Party (SP) event was scheduled to be graced by the presence of party president Akhilesh Yadav later in the day. Swami Prasad Maurya is a notable figure in Uttar Pradesh, known for his leadership in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community. He made a transition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the Samajwadi Party (SP) prior to the 2022 Assembly elections.
