Uttar Pradesh Ghaziabad News: GDA's Northern Peripheral Road Project Promises Relief for Commuters Neha Kumari Jun 28, 2024 17:24 GMT Ghaziabad News: In a significant relief for city residents, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has announced the construction of the Northern Peripheral Road, connecting Meerut Road to NH-9 via Madhuban-Bapudham. This development aims to resolve long-standing issues of detours and traffic congestion. Two-Fold Benefit: In the first phase, the construction of a 4.8-kilometer section of the Northern Peripheral Road will facilitate the advancement of the Madhuban-Bapudham project. Additionally, this new route will provide commuters with a direct and congestion-free path, eliminating the need for long detours. Rapid Construction Efforts: GDA Vice Chairman Atul Vats has prioritized the completion of the Madhuban-Bapudham project by overcoming its obstacles. Following his directive, GDA Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and other officials are vigorously pursuing the construction efforts. Secretary Singh has issued clear instructions to the engineering and land acquisition sections to complete the first phase of the Northern Peripheral Road from Meerut Road to the Madhuban-Bapudham scheme on a war footing. Detailed Plan and Immediate Actions: The proposed 45-meter wide road spans a total length of 4.8 kilometers, of which 1.75 kilometers are already constructed, including a segment of the ROB. The GDA is set to begin immediate work on the remaining 3.05 kilometers. Secretary Singh has directed the land acquisition section to complete the necessary surveys and the engineering section to prepare the construction estimates promptly. This ambitious project, once completed, will significantly ease traffic woes and support the successful implementation of the Madhuban-Bapudham scheme, bringing much-needed infrastructure improvements to the area.
