The Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath assured the family that justice would be delivered. In his statement, Adityanath said, “In this hour of grief, the Uttar Pradesh government stands with the victim's family with full sensitivity and commitment. The culprits of this unforgivable incident will not be spared.” Communal Tensions Rise in Bahraich The Bahraich violence unfolded when a Durga idol procession passed through a Mahsi Maharajganj area of Bahraich, leading to an altercation over the music being played. What began as a disagreement quickly escalated into a violent clash, resulting in Gopal Mishra’s death. The incident has heightened communal tensions in the region, prompting a large deployment of police to maintain law and order. A thorough investigation is underway, with the ADG Law and Order and Home Secretary expected to submit their report on the violence to the CM. Adityanath has vowed that those responsible for Gopal Mishra's death will face the strictest consequences, and efforts are being made to restore peace in the affected areas. Police Forces on High Alert In response to the growing communal tension in Bahraich, a significant police presence has been deployed not only in the violence-hit areas but also in surrounding districts. Security forces remain on high alert to prevent any further escalation of violence. So far, 30 individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the clashes, and the investigation continues. Injured Victims Under Treatment Apart from Gopal Mishra, two other individuals, Saroj Tiwari (40) and Sudhakar Tiwari (45), were also injured during the clashes. Both are receiving treatment at the Trauma Center in Lucknow, and their condition is reported to be stable.
