Bahraich Violence: In an emotional moment, the family members of Gopal Mishra, who tragically lost his life during the recent Bahraich violence, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his Lucknow residence. The family, overwhelmed with grief, cried inconsolably as they sought justice for their son who was killed during the communal clashes in the Mahsi Maharajganj area of Bahraich.

Gopal Mishra’s Family Pleads for Justice

The heartbroken family of 22-year-old Gopal Mishra, a victim of the violence that erupted during a Durga idol immersion procession, expressed their anguish in front of CM Yogi Adityanath. The Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath assured the family that justice would be delivered. In his statement, Adityanath said, “In this hour of grief, the Uttar Pradesh government stands with the victim's family with full sensitivity and commitment. The culprits of this unforgivable incident will not be spared.”

Communal Tensions Rise in Bahraich

The Bahraich violence unfolded when a Durga idol procession passed through a Mahsi Maharajganj area of Bahraich, leading to an altercation over the music being played. What began as a disagreement quickly escalated into a violent clash, resulting in Gopal Mishra’s death. The incident has heightened communal tensions in the region, prompting a large deployment of police to maintain law and order.

CM Yogi Adityanath Assures Strict Action

During the meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed his commitment to the Mishra family, stating that the Uttar Pradesh government will prioritize justice. A thorough investigation is underway, with the ADG Law and Order and Home Secretary expected to submit their report on the violence to the CM. Adityanath has vowed that those responsible for Gopal Mishra's death will face the strictest consequences, and efforts are being made to restore peace in the affected areas.

Police Forces on High Alert

In response to the growing communal tension in Bahraich, a significant police presence has been deployed not only in the violence-hit areas but also in surrounding districts. Security forces remain on high alert to prevent any further escalation of violence. So far, 30 individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the clashes, and the investigation continues.

Injured Victims Under Treatment

Apart from Gopal Mishra, two other individuals, Saroj Tiwari (40) and Sudhakar Tiwari (45), were also injured during the clashes. Both are receiving treatment at the Trauma Center in Lucknow, and their condition is reported to be stable. The UP government has ensured that the victims are receiving proper medical care while working to de-escalate tensions in the region.
