Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath advisor Avnish Awasthi gets service extension Neha Kumari Mar 28, 2023 18:01 GMT Retired IAS officer Awanish Awasthi has been given extension till February 29, 2024, as advisor to the chief minister. Earlier, he was appointed on the temporary post of Advisor to the Chief Minister till February 28, 2023. He will advise the Chief Minister in his administrative work. During this time they will be considered as temporary government servants. He will be paid after deducting the amount of net pension in the last drawn salary. Has been the head of many departments Retired IAS Avnish Awasthi retired on 31 August 2022 amidst all the discussions about getting extension. The charge of all his departments including UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) was given to Principal Secretary, Chief Minister and Information Sanjay Prasad. In addition to the Home, he had the responsibility of Confidentiality, Jail Administration and Reforms, Visa-Passport, Charitable Work Department and Vigilance Department. He was also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UPEDA and UP State Highways Authority (UPSHA) and DG Prisons. He also had the additional responsibility of the Energy Department After 1984, Avneesh Awasthi set the record of being the head of the Home Department for the longest period of 3 years and 1 month. His tenure was from August 1, 2019 to August 31, 2022. In honor of his retirement, a farewell felicitation ceremony was organized by the police department.
