The Samajwadi Party chief planned to pay tribute to the iconic leader but found the main gate covered with tin sheets, effectively denying him and his party entry to the premises. In protest, Samajwadi Party workers waved flags and displayed posters of Jayaprakash Narayan. This isn't the first such standoff between the two leaders; last year, a similar situation unfolded when Akhilesh Yadav scaled an 8-foot wall during a protest at the same location. Criticizing the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government, he told reporters, “The government is trying to hide something. Why can’t we pay homage to a great leader like Jayaprakash Narayan? He wrote, “BJP’s closed thinking is symbolized by the wall they’ve built.
