 Sachin Pilot weighs in on education, says we need a policy push to make India future ready

While attending the annual convocation of Gurgaon Progressive Schools Council (GPSC), Congress leader and former deputy CM of Rajasthan underlined the need for a "policy push" in education to make it future-ready. He added that making an investment in education will pay off handsomely for the country and society in the future.

Sachin Pilot: Investment in Education has the investment for the future

"Investment in other avenues, say infrastructure, is cash-intensive and depreciating. But investment in education has great dividends. Thus, the policies should prioritise education. Also, education in current times has gone through challenging times, which demands policies to be realistic and futuristic. That should be the focus of the policymakers,"

Leading Academics and their views

The theme of the 21st convocation, which attracted over 52 schools from the city, including some of the most prominent ones, was the fusion of schola-tertiary and industry,

"Today's world is very dynamic and that should be factored in during the classroom transactions to encourage new ideas, innovations, and empathy,

"In the 21st century, we need students who can come up with innovative ideas and creative approaches towards solving problems in society,"

Representatives of parents, teachers, and students from several schools discussed a range of issues. The heads of the schools gave presentations at the conference on the results of their presentations. The Ministry of Education would receive white papers of these presentations.

Discussion on role of Technology such as ChatGPT

Additionally, schools talked about how ChatGPT fits into the school ecosystem and how it may be used to teach students modern skills.

"The past two years of the pandemic has brought about many changes in the way education is imparted. Education is increasingly technology-driven and AI-based technological support such as ChatGPT can be leveraged to the advantage."
