Rajasthan: Power Struggle in BJP! Vasundhara Raje's Birthday Bash Clashes with Protest at CM's Residence Ahead of Rajasthan Assembly Elections

Rajasthan: The BJP is engaged in a power struggle as Rajasthan prepares for the assembly elections at the end of this year. On the one hand, Vasundhara Raje, a former chief minister, will celebrate her birthday on Saturday with a lavish party at the Salasar temple in the Churu district. On the other hand, the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's residence is the target of a simultaneous programme by the BJP's youth wing, the Yuva Morcha, which is run by a figure who is widely regarded as her rival.

supporters believe Raje could run for chief minister

The success of the protest is expected from each and every MLA. Many BJP leaders are currently faced with the decision of whether to follow Ms Raje, who is still popular, or stick with the party's platform. The rifts within the BJP are getting worse as a result of these events colliding. The birthday party for Vasundhara Raje is being viewed as a show of strength before the Rajasthan assembly elections. Ms. Raje is well-liked within the BJP and is still one of the party's top vote-getters despite serving as chief minister twice. Ms. Raje's supporters believe she could run for chief minister even though the party has decided not to project a chief ministerial face in this election.

Raje has celebrated her birthday with members of the party

However, the Vasundhara Raje camp has refuted the notion that the birthday celebration is a power play. They assert that for the previous two years, Ms. Raje has celebrated her birthday with members of the party. Rahul Kaswan, a BJP member from Churu, claimed that because Ms. Raje is the party's national vice-president and appeals to young voters, they want to celebrate her birthday.

BJP's youth wing has organised a protest

"She had her birthday two years ago in Goverdhanji, Bharatpur. Due to party workers' desire to meet her, it was Keshoraipatan last year and Salasar this year "said Mr. Kaswan. The BJP's youth wing has organised a protest about exam paper leaks at the Chief Minister's house in an effort to clash with the event. Satish Poonia, the state's BJP leader and a longtime rival of Ms. Raje's, and Rajendra Singh Rathore, the deputy leader of the opposition party in the assembly, will speak at the event. Mr. Rathore denied that there was any indication of a power struggle within the party from the competing events.

BJP has already taken action

"There is nothing wrong with a leader celebrating their birthday. She served as chief minister twice. No tug of war exists. On these days, the Vidhan Sabha met, and MLAs had to be present "said he. Meanwhile, the BJP has already taken action that appeared to be an attempt to minimise the perception of a divide. Arun Singh, the party's representative for Rajasthan, has been moved from Delhi to attend the demonstration in the morning and visit Vasundhara Raje with party officeholders in the evening.
