States Rainfall in Mumbai topples normalcy; waterlogging, train delays and traffic congestion, one dead Ambuj Sharma Jun 28, 2023 11:56 GMT Mumbai: Heavy rainfall has disrupted the flow of normal life in the fast paced Mumbai. Due to heavy rains city has been overrun with waterlogging and train services are at standstill in some areas. In the morning hours of Wednesday, eastern and western suburbs of the city received more than 40 mm of rainfall. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked its officials to visit lowlying areas in an effort to forward relief work in case of flooding. The rainfall is likely to continue for next 4-5 days. As per BMC 26 trees have fallen, 15 short-circuits have occurred , and five cases of partial or full collapse of houses has happened in the last 24 hours. One person dead Kaushal Doshi is reported to have died after a tree collapsed in the suburban area of Malad. He was taken to Shatabdi Hospital but was declared dead upon his arrival.
