Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Punjab Set for Upgrade

In a bid to strengthen technical education and provide industry-relevant skills to the youth of Punjab, five Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state are set for a significant upgrade. The initiative, led by Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney, is projected to generate 5,000 jobs annually.

The revamp will be supported through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Punjab Department of Technical Education and Vikramjit Singh Sahney. Under this agreement, Sahney will contribute Rs 10 crore for the modernization of these ITIs. Additionally, three new skill centres are being established in Patiala, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana to cater to the growing demand for skilled workers. These centres will be closely linked with local industries, ensuring that students receive practical training aligned with industry needs.

This overhaul of technical education is expected to not only equip Punjab's youth with vital skills but also bridge the gap between educational institutions and the job market, contributing to the state's overall economic development.
