Punjab News: In a significant breakthrough against cross-border drug trafficking, the Special State Operations Cell (SSOC) Amritsar has dismantled a major heroin smuggling network, recovering 6 kg of heroin, 67 live cartridges, 2 magazines, and 6 mobile phones. The operation marks a crucial step in Punjab's ongoing fight against narcotics.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations are underway to establish the backward and forward linkages of the smuggling network. Authorities are working to trace the origin of the contraband and identify the individuals involved in this trans-border operation.

The Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to making the state drug-free, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This operation is part of a broader crackdown on drug smuggling in the region, which has seen increased collaboration between local law enforcement and border security agencies.
