Punjab News : Hansali Village in Punjab Awarded ‘India’s Best Tourism Village 2024’ in Agri-Tourism Category

Punjab News: In a proud moment for Punjab, Hansali village in Fatehgarh Sahib has been honored as India’s Best Tourism Village 2024 in the Agri-Tourism category. The award was presented during the World Tourism Day celebrations held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, organized by the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

The recognition was received by Hansali's representatives, including Amrit Singh and Sukhchan Singh Gill, from Union Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Secretary V. Vidyavathi. This accolade celebrates Hansali's excellence in organic farming, immersive farm-to-table experiences, and rural tourism, making it a model village for agri-based tourism.

The village offers tourists the opportunity to experience organic farming

Hansali Organic Farm, owned by Sukhchan Singh Gill and his son Pavail Gill, has played a pivotal role in transforming the village into a rural tourism hotspot. The village offers tourists the opportunity to experience organic farming, enjoy traditional farm meals, participate in farming activities, and immerse themselves in Punjab’s rural hospitality.

Amrit Singh, a village representative, shared that Hansali has become a hub for organic farming and a destination where visitors can experience the true essence of rural life. This achievement marks another success for Punjab in promoting rural tourism. Last year, Nawan Pind Sandaran in Gurdaspur district was awarded the Best Tourism Village of India 2023.

To celebrate World Tourism Day, the Punjab Tourism Department is also organizing various events across prominent monuments and tourist destinations throughout the state. This recognition underscores Punjab's growing presence in India’s rural tourism landscape, showcasing its agricultural heritage and traditional lifestyle.
