 Political Violence Escalates in Amethi as SP MLA Thrashes BJP Candidate's Husband, video surfaces

Uttar Pradesh: In a police station in the Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh and his followers are accused of beating Deepak Singh, the husband of BJP municipal election candidate Rashmi Singh. A video of the allegedly event that has gone viral on social media depicts the SP MLA beating up the husband of the BJP politician while cops try to stop him. He is wearing a white kurta.

Rakesh Pratap said that BJP employees had mistreated party members

The event happened in the Amethi district's Gauriganj Kotwali police station. Rakesh Pratap was seated on a protest when Deepak Singh entered the police station, according to a report by the news agency PTI, and he verbally abused him there. Rakesh Pratap said that BJP employees had mistreated party members, but the police have not yet filed a FIR. Additionally, he said that Deepak Singh had threatened to murder two Samajwadi Party members.

Deepak Singh claimed that the SP MLA has not yet been subject to any punishment

Rakesh Singh claims that Mohammad Shamim reported to the police that Deepak Singh threatened him when he was operating Singh's brother's vehicle. Banke Bihar Singh said in another complaint that Deepak Singh threatened to murder him before forcibly picking him up in his car in Rajgarh. Deepak Singh claimed that Rakesh Singh and his followers attacked him inside the police station after throwing stones at him "with the intention of killing him" by SP members. Deepak Singh claimed that the SP MLA has not yet been subject to any punishment and he encouraged Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Smriti Irani, the member of parliament for Amethi, to take stern action against the lawmaker and his followers.
