MP News: Madhya Pradesh Government to Split Financial Aid for Martyrs Equally Between Spouse and Parents

MP News: The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to distribute the financial assistance provided to the families of martyrs equally between the spouse and the parents. This decision applies to the one crore rupees financial aid given by the state government in cases of martyrdom of security personnel, including those from the military, paramilitary forces, and police forces.

Fair Distribution of Financial Aid

Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that typically and practically, the financial assistance is given to the spouse of the martyr, often leaving the parents without support. He emphasized that with the new cabinet decision, 50 percent of the total financial aid will now be allocated to the martyr's parents. He noted that parents lose both their child and their support when a martyr dies.

Scholarships for Madhya Pradesh Students in Military Schools

In another significant decision, the cabinet has approved scholarships for students from Madhya Pradesh who are studying in military schools outside the state. This move aims to support the education of these students and alleviate financial burdens on their families.

New Nodal Agency for Railway Projects

An official from the government revealed that the cabinet has also decided to designate the Public Works Department (PWD) as the nodal agency for railway projects in Madhya Pradesh, replacing the Transport Department. This change is expected to streamline the implementation of railway projects in the state.

Additional Land for Sports Authority of India in Bhopal

Among other decisions, the cabinet has allocated an additional acre of land to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bhopal. This allocation is intended to enhance the infrastructure and facilities for sports development in the state.

These decisions reflect the Madhya Pradesh government's commitment to supporting the families of martyrs, promoting education for military school students, and improving infrastructure projects and sports facilities in the state.
