MP News: CM Mohan Yadav Launches PM Shri Religious Tourism Helicopter Service for Two Jyotirlingas

MP News: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the PM Shri Religious Tourism Helicopter Service at a ceremony held at the DRP Lines helipad in Ujjain, marking a major step towards promoting religious tourism in Madhya Pradesh. This programme is a significant step forward in facilitating pilgrimage to Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Omkareshwar. It aligns with initiatives to improve connectivity and visitor access, notably to the state's two famed Jyotirlingas.

Expanding Pilgrimage Access

The recently introduced air-circuit service creates a path that links Omkareshwar and Indore-Ujjain, providing pilgrims with an easy and quick way to visit these holy places. This pilgrimage package, which costs Rs 12,524, includes trips to the Omkareshwar Temple and the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain.

Operational Framework

The Aviation Department is the nodal agency in charge of this air pilgrimage service, hence it plays a crucial role. The management of the first operations will be done in collaboration with Sarv Aviation Company, and plans for growth will depend on how popular the route becomes for air travel.

Seasonal Expectations

Anticipating increased attention, particularly in Shravan, the month devoted to Lord Shiva, officials are upbeat about the reception of the service among pilgrims wishing to participate in religious observances at these religious places.

Recent Developments in Madhya Pradesh's Tourism Infrastructure

Recently, PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva was launched by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in addition to the PM Shri Religious Tourism Helicopter Service. With the help of this project, eight popular tourist locations in Madhya Pradesh will have air access, including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ujjain, Gwalior, Singrauli, and Khajuraho.
