A video of the incident went viral, and many people demanded that Shukla be punished. Six days after the incident in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, the police just discovered the video on Tuesday. According to a senior police source who spoke to the ANI news agency, Pravesh Shukla has been arrested and is being questioned. According to Singh Chouhan, the government will make sure the culprit receives the "sternest possible punishment" in order to set an example. Following the release of the video, the state's opposition claimed that Pravesh Shukla is representative of BJP MLA Kedar Shukla. Shukla posted a picture of the two on Facebook. The BJP strongly rejected any connections to Shukla. Kedar Shukla acknowledged that he knew the accused but added that Shukla wasn't his representative. Ramakant Shukla, Pravesh Shukla's father, asserted that his son was Kedar Shukla's agent. "He is being targeted by the opposition because he is a representative of the BJP MLA. Ramakant expressed his hope that the case would be thoroughly investigated and that justice would be done.
