Lucknow News: Conjunctivitis cases spike in the city, doctors ask to take these Precautions

Lucknow News: The Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences of Lucknow is witnessing a spike in the conjunctivitis cases. The condition is so severe that the SGPGI is receiving dozens of infected cases in the OPD everyday. According to sources, the SGPGI is planning to do a Research on the Conjunctivitis disease. The Department of Microbiology is also planning to do a Research with the help of the Ophthalmology Department. Apart from the SGPGI, the other Government Hospitals of the city is also witnessing lots of Conjunctivitis cases everyday.

'Cases will be controlled in 2 weeks'

Everyday more than 500 people are being detected with the infection which includes children as well as other elderly citizens. According to the experts, the Conjunctivitis cases will be controlled in a few weeks, but before that the citizens need to be extra cautious about their eyes. The infected person is usually having Red eyes and swelling in the eye lashes. The Doctors advice extreme alertness to avoid the  infection.

Doctors of SGPGI collects Samples to know the cause of Infection

The Doctors of the SGPGI have started collected the samples from the patients to find out the cause for the rise in cases.  The doctors advise everyone not to touch the eyes with hands, one must keep washing the eyes with water, the infected person should keep the hand Towel and clothes separately.
