Ferozepur to be developed as a major tourist destination, says MP Sandeep Pathak

Sandeep Pathak: Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak announced on Friday that the historically important town Ferozepur will be developed as a major tourist destination. Ferozepur is a land of martyrs and has a great potential to attract tourists from across the world, he said.

Pathak who was attending a function, said that there will be no dearth of funds to develop Ferozepur as a tourist destination. He added he will also spend from his MP fund for the comprehensive development of this district.

Tricycles, wheel chairs for the needy

Pathak was addressing a function organized by the District Red Cross Organization for distribution of electric tricycles, wheel chairs, artificial limbs etc. to the needy. He provided Rs. 10 lakh to the society from his MP fund .

Speaking on the occasiomn, Pathak said education and health are the primary sector for development by the AAP government. “ It will be a game changer for the border area districts by providing development oriented education and health facilities at reasonable rates “.

He also said that  keeping in view the historical importance of this ancient city , he would soon meet Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the overall development of the city in a planned manner. The Rajya Sabha MP also announced that CCTVs will be installed at vantage points in the city to improve security.

Playgrounds developed in 125 villages

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman said on the occasion that playgrounds have been developed in 125 villages of the state under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s  'Har Gaon Ek Khel Maidan' campaign.

Earlier a contingent of Punjab police presented a guard of honour to the MP. MLAs also paid obeisance at Shaheedi Smarak Hussainiwala and paid floral tributes to the national martyrs.

Those present on the occasion included MLA Faridkot Gurdit Singh Sekhon, Chairman Punjab AGRO Shaminder Singh Khinda, Chairman District Planning Committee Chand Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner Suraj, SDM Ranjit Singh, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Behal, Social Activist Vipul Narang besides workers of AAP .
