States Dehradun News: Experts warn of More Cave-Ins in future due to Monsoon & Bad Weather Madhulika Rai Aug 16, 2023 15:10 GMT Dehradun News Dehradun News: Experts have pointed out serious concerns about the cave ins on the Delhi Dehradun Highway which is built on a budget of over 12000 crore. The Highway is likely to reduce the journey from Delhi to Dehradun in three hours once its built. According to experts, the construction work on the Highways could also be one of the possibility that has caused damaged and weakened the road. Experts have warned of more such break downs in the future. According to the officials of National Highways Authority of India, these breakdowns during the Monsoon season is common. Construction weakens the stretches of Highway Many Geologists also believe that the project which is uplifted in few areas, is likely to affect the Shivalik system. The movement on the roads like construction work, machinery, moving of heavy vehicles , blasts and Machinery surely affect the road from inside which results in the damage, and which doesn’t come out immediately. This happens during the monsoon season especially when land slides occur you get to witness these cave-ins.( As reported by TOI) 'More Break-down are likely to happen in future' Experts feel that there is a possibility that these break downs will happen more in the coming future.
