Dharchula Cloudburst: In an unfortunate turn of events, a cloudburst in Dharchula of Uttarakhand has disrupted lives. Due to the cloud burst incident, the connecting bridge of Chal village of Darma Valley has been destroyed, leaving more than 200 people in the village stranded. Debris was found to be accumulated on the connecting bridge, as per the latest reports. A video shows locals battling the strong flow of water during their quest for survival. 

Connecting bridge washed away by flash floods

The entire country is suffering the wrath of ongoing monsoon rains. From the plains to the mountains, the rain is in its fury. In one such incident of destruction caused by monsoon rains, a cloudburst was reported in the Dharchula area of the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. A bridge was washed away in the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst in Cha Village of Dharchula town. As many as 200 locals are reported to be stranded after the bridge was washed away. The SDM said that no casulaties were reported.

IMD Predicts heavy rainfall 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall across various regions of the country during the next five days. In Uttarakhand, many districts are expected to witness heavy rainfall, the IMD said.
