The man was eventually identified as Head Constable Satish Prasad.

Head Constable Prasad Faces Legal Action as Case Filed Against Him for Alleged Sexual Abuse

A case has been filed against Prasad.  "The incident took place in Imphal on July 20 at a shop near a petrol pump. The accused has been identified as Head Constable Satish Prasad. He has been suspended and a case has been registered against him," a senior officer told PTI.  Following a complaint to the paramilitary force, Prasad was suspended the same day. The head constable, who is a member of the force's 100th battalion and was dispatched to the conflict-torn northeastern state as an ad hoc unit for security tasks, was the subject of an internal investigation launched by the central armed police force. "He has been kept in close arrest and departmental proceedings have been initiated against him," the official said.

Two Women Allegedly Raped and Killed Amidst Ongoing Ethnic Conflict

According to the officer, who was quoted by PTI, "the BSF has zero tolerance for such acts and a fair investigation will be conducted in this incident." A few days after a video of a gang of men sexually abusing and stripping two women in Manipur went viral, a new episode of violence against a lady has occurred. So far, seven persons have been detained in this case. According to evidence from a first information report (FIR) accessed by HT, two additional women were allegedly raped and killed by a crowd on May 4 in the state capital of Imphal. The FIRs state that both the attackers (Meitei) and the victims (Kuki) were from the same group and that both events occurred on the same day, within an hour of one another. Since fighting between Meiteis and Kukis erupted in Manipur on May 3, following a 'Tribal Solidarity March' to oppose the former community's desire for Scheduled Tribe (ST) designation, more than 160 people have died and numerous others have been injured. The government of Manipur partially eased the internet ban on Tuesday by permitting broadband service under certain conditions but maintaining the prohibition on mobile internet.
