States Bihar News: NIA arrests 4th accused in terror funding case linked to revival of outlawed outfit CPI Maoist Ambuj Sharma Jun 26, 2023 08:16 GMT Bihar News: The National Investigation Agency(NIA0 has arrested one person in the CPI (Maoist0 terror funding case. As per ANI, the funding is related to renewal of banned outfit in the Magadh region of Bihar. The accused Anandi Paswan has various pending criminal cased pending against him in police stations across the state. NIA further stated that this the fourth arrest made in relation to the terror financing network jointly run by Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and CPI (Maoist) cadres. Earlier Tarun Kumar, Praduyman Sharma and Gaurav were arrested by NIA and chargesheet against them was filed on 20th January. Investigation and Arrests According to a report by ANI, the investigations so far have revealed that the proscribed terrorist organization, CPI (Maoist) was raising funds for securing supply of arms and ammunition and recruitment of new cadres. This is the fourth arrest in the case related to the terror financing network being jointly operated by CPI (Maoist) cadres and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) in the Magadh region. After arrest of Anandi Paswan ANI reported “Raids conducted at the premises of Anandi, a resident of village Nirakhpur in Kinjar area of district Arwal, Bihar, had also led to the seizure of illegal arms and ammunition on February 12 in 2022.” A suo-moto case has been registered by NIA on December 30 in 2021 and the investigation is undergoing.
