 Younis Khan ends his contract with PCB as national team batting coach

Former Pakistan skipper Younis Khan has resigned from his post of batting coach of the national cricket team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) told on Tuesday that the board and Younis decided this by mutual consent that he will leave the post. Younis was made the batting coach of the Pakistan team in November last year and his tenure was till 2022 which was to end after the T20 World Cup next year in Australia.

"I want to thank Younis Khan for his contributions during his short stint as the Pakistan men's national cricket team's batting coach and hope he will remain available to assist the PCB by sharing his vast knowledge with the emerging cricketers," Wasim Khan added.

Younis started his job as coach from 2020-21 against New Zealand, where his team lost two out of three T20Is and went down 2-0 in the Test series.

After this, Pakistan defeated South Africa 2-0 in Tests and 2-1 in T20 series. Younis' last series as coach was the tour of Zimbabwe in April-May this year, where Pakistan won the T20I series 2-1 and two Test matches.
