T20 World Cup 2022: On Friday, Team India travelled from Adeliade to Melbourne in preparation for their final Super 12 encounter of the T20 World Cup against Zimbabwe. In Adelaide, the team received a heartfelt send-off from the supporters, some of whom carried posters with birthday greetings for Virat Kohli printed on them.

India defeated Pakistan by four wickets in their T20 World Cup opener in front of 90,293 spectators which was played at the MCG. Kohli's knock of 82 off 53 balls in the same match has been described as one of the best knock ever by an Indian in T20Is.

The Indian icon scored 82 runs off 53 balls, describing it as his best T20 performance of his career. “It’s a surreal atmosphere. I honestly have no words. I have no idea how that happened,” Kohli had said.

With six points after four games and a close victory against Bangladesh, India is currently in a comfortable position to finish as the table-toppers provided they defeat Zimbabwe in their next match.

On the other side, various outcomes will determine Pakistan's prospects of making the semi-finals. Babar Azam's men will have a chance if Netherlands or Zimbabwe defeat South Africa or India, respectively. However, they will need to defeat Bangladesh in their first game. However, there are close to nil chances of Pakistan qualifying as they are in dire need of miracle. Meanwhile, South Africa has good chances of qualifying to the semi-final spot.
