T20 World Cup 2022: Pakistan requires 'luck' and 'good cricket' now to qualify for the semi-final spots | Know details here

T20 World Cup 2022: With their win over Bangladesh in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday, India almost certainly secured a spot in the semifinals. Despite the fact that Rohit Sharma and company still have a chance to lose, their position has been significantly strengthened by the victory over Bangladesh.

Pakistan's prospects of qualifying have also been seriously compromised by the outcome. For Pakistan, though, there is yet some hope. Babar Azam and company still have two games left to play in the competition, and if a few other outcomes go in their favour, they may be able to secure a spot in the last four.

The present situation that Pakistan finds itself in is entirely its own fault. Pakistan's strategy failed against Zimbabwe, as they suffered a shocking loss. The Netherlands were defeated by Babar's team to maintain their chances of making the semi-finals, although the situation has since become difficult.

How can Pakistan still qualify for semi-finals?

First scenario: Pakistan defeats Bangladesh and South Africa, while South Africa later loses to the Netherlands. Even if the Netherlands vs. South Africa game is postponed because of bad weather, Pakistan will still go to the semifinals.

Scenario 2: Pakistan defeats South Africa and Bangladesh in both of their games, while India suffers a crushing defeat to Zimbabwe, lowering their Net Run Rate below that of Pakistan.

Even while both of the eventualities aren't the easiest for Pakistan to achieve, practically speaking, the second one seems much less likely than the first. To stay in the competition, Pakistan must first defeat South Africa on Thursday. Their dreams would be dashed if they lost to the Proteas.
