T20 World Cup 2022: As we move on to the tournament's semifinals in a few days, the Super 12 stage of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has come to an end. Despite the controversies surrounding the weather playing a key role in several fixtures, the event has so far been one of the most exciting editions.

Since the First Round, fans have been able to see a variety of thrilling matches that were full of drama, explosive bowling performances, fantastic batting exploits, and "upsets." Following the conclusion of the Super 12 stage, we look at the highest run scorers of the competition thus far, albeit there are undoubtedly a few more compelling matchups that the tournament has to offer in the next three games.

Virat Kohli reigns at top

The hitters have typically outperformed the opposition and scored significant runs to give their team an advantage over the opposition. Virat Kohli, a former captain of India and batsman, is at the top of the list, standing tall with 246 runs in just five games and a batting average of 123.00.

His return also signalled the return of the beloved "vintage Kohli." After scoring a historic 82* off 53 balls to beat Pakistan, the hitter has never looked back and has scored three half-centuries in his last five appearances.

With 242 runs in his eight games, Max O'Dowd is second on the list. Given how effective he was with the bat and how well regarded he is among elite run scorers, the Netherlands were fortunate to have his services throughout the competition.

Who are the top scorers of T20 World Cup 2022 after Super 12?

Since the year's beginning, Suryakumar Yadav, has been on fire. The player has consistently shown his value to the team and has emerged as the most lethal middle order batter. Suryakumar Yadav, known as "SKY," is ranked third on the list of greatest run scorers with 225 runs in five innings.

Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka smashed 223 runs in 8 innings with an average of 31.85. One of the standout performers has been Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, who many consider to be among the best of the list of seasoned players. Raza is currently ranked fifth among all-time leading run scorers with 219 runs scored for the African team in his eight games at an average of 27.37.
