The Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg was waterlogged, making it difficult for the teams to play. The match has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 12 and will start at 1:30 pm local time. Despite this, the SA20 organizers have confirmed that all tickets for the original final date will be valid for the reserve day. The South Africa Weather Service predicts that the weather will clear up on Sunday, with more showers expected for Saturday. Graeme Smith, the SA20 League Commissioner, stated that the focus is on providing the teams and spectators with an unforgettable final. SunRisers Eastern Cape, led by Aiden Markram, advanced to the final after defeating Joburg Super Kings.
