Lionel Messi: Following the victory celebration on Tuesday in Argentina with his teammates and fans, Lionel Messi, the Argentina captain, posed in bed with the World Cup. Messi shared a photo on Instagram with the caption "Buen da," pretending to sleep while holding the World Cup trophy. In the Spanish caption of his Instagram photo, Messi added a smiley face and said, "Good Morning." Messi's post was liked and commented on by millions of people.

Messi posted a bunch of images to Instagram after the FIFA World Cup 2022 championship match. With almost 60 million likes on his winning picture, his Instagram post became the 'most-liked' post. Ronaldo posted a picture of him and Messi on Instagram just before the 2022 FIFA World Cup started and he garnered nearly 41 million likes on it.

When the Argentina team landed at the Ezeiza airport in Buenos Aires after winning the World Cup, thousands of fans lined the streets to greet them.

Argentina wins the trophy after 36 years

On Sunday night, Argentina upset the defending champions France to capture their third World Cup title in what has been hailed as the greatest final in history. The scorecard of the game read 2-2 after the initial time after Kylian Mbappe scored two goals within 97 seconds after 78th minute to turn the tides.

However, in the extra time as well, both the team scored a goal each, thanks yet again to Messi and Mbappe. Thus, the game was finally decided on the basis of penalty shootout. Argentina won the shootout by 4-2. It ended the 36 year wait for the World Cup trophy of Argentina and also fulfilled the long-term wish of Lionel Messi.
