 IPL to start from April 9, 6 cities to host tournament

The Board for Control of Cricket in India has confirmed that the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League will be played in India. The BCCI has confirmed that the entire tournament will be played in six cities. The cities are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

Chennai will host the tournament opener between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9.

While the playoffs will be played at the World Biggest Cricket Stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera in Ahemadabad including the finals.

In a significant change from the previous IPLs played in India, the organizers have decided to conduct all the games at neutral venues. There will be no such home game or away games all the matches will be in the form of neutral venues.
