IPL 2023: Blow for KKR! Star overseas batter travels back due to Family Emergency, Details here

IPL 2023: Due to a family medical emergency, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Litton Das has returned to Bangladesh. It is unlikely that he will be able to continue his participation in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) only until May 4.

Litton Das withdraws from IPL 2023

For those unfamiliar, the 28-year-old player was acquired by KKR for Rs 50 lakh. His IPL debut for the franchise was against Delhi Capitals (DC), where he managed to score four runs off four balls. Prior to that, he was unable to participate in several matches for KKR due to his involvement in the Ireland tour of Bangladesh. It is anticipated that he will join the Ireland team for their upcoming three-match ODI series.

He stated, "Litton Das has had to return to Bangladesh earlier today (Friday 28 April) due to an urgent family medical emergency. Our wishes go out to him and his family to make it through this difficult time."

It is important to note that KKR faced the withdrawal of Shakib Al Hasan earlier. The all-rounder from Bangladesh decided to withdraw from the lucrative league in mutual agreement, as he had missed several matches due to international commitments. In response, Kolkata signed England's Jason Roy as a replacement for him.

KKR back to winning ways in IPL 2023

In their recent match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) managed to reclaim their winning form. Nitish Rana and his teammates secured a 21-run victory, putting an end to their four-match losing streak. This win marked their second triumph over RCB in the ongoing IPL 2023 season. The defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), are the only other team that KKR has successfully defeated so far in the tournament.
