The BCCI has ordered NCA to collaborate with IPL franchises to regulate workload and keep an eye on players' fitness during IPL 2023 in light of the growing injury concern. In order to better control workload and injuries, the Indian Cricket Board decided to take certain strict measures during a review meeting. Since the NCA will continue to communicate with franchisees, players like Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Burma, and Hardik Pandya may only participate in the competition under a "Conditional NOC." The NCA has been urged to collaborate with IPL teams on workload management in order to protect the players, per BCCI. Any player returning from an injury layoff must undergo a Dexa test in addition to the Yo-Yo test, per BCCI regulations. The BCCI has requested the NCA take matters into their own hands as the 2023 World Cup approaches. To control the players' workload, the NCA, under the direction of VVS Laxman, would be in contact with every IPL club. Only conditional NOCs have been provided to high-risk players like Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. When playing for the Gujarat Titans last year, Hardik himself had to miss a few games due to injuries. A significant amount of games were missed by star players Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah due to fitness issues.
