India vs Zimbabwe, T20 World Cup: Ashwin, Suryakumar hand India a big win vs Zimbabwe

India beat Zimbabwe by 71 runs in their final Super 12 game of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Chasing the huge target of 187 runs, Zimbabwe failed held their nerves right from the beginning. The Chevrons got bundled up by India at just 115.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh started things very well for the inaugural champions with regular wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the Indian bowlers with his figures of 3/22. While Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh picked two wickets apiece.

Earlier, India posted a huge total of 187 runs after Suryakumar Yadav batted brilliantly to score a 25-ball 61-run knock. KL Rahul also scored a fifty while Virat Kohli scored 26.

Zimbabwe skipper Sean Williams was the pick of the bowlers for his side with his figures of 2/9. Earlier, Rohit Sharma brought Rishabh Pant in the lineup place of injured Dinesh Karthik.

Earlier in the day after Netherlands defeated South Africa, Pakistan also qualified for the semifinals.

India will next take on England in their semifinal clash on Thursday. While Pakistan and New Zealand will face off on Wednesday in other semifinal.
