ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Jasprit Bumrah and Ashwin return to India squad, Axar replace Ravindra Jadeja; BCCI Announces Squad

ICC T20 World Cup 2022: The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) announced a 15-man squad of Indian team for ICC T20 World Cup 2022. T20 World Cup is scheduled to play in Australia from October 16 to November 13. Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the Indian team and the team will also travel with 4 stand-by players for the quinary tournament.

India will began their campaign in Super 12 stages of the World Cup against their most favorite rivals Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Group 2 teams are, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh plus the runner up of Group A and Group B. Sixteen  nations will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be played in the historic grounds of Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Rohit and Rahul will open the innings

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will be the openers. Virat Kohli will play at No.3 after regaining his form in Asia Cup 2022. Suryakumar Yadav has been India’s most successful batsman in current season and He will play at No.4 in Australia. Hardik Pandya has improved as a cricketer and his form at No.5 will push India to win the matches with the strong middle order. Dinesh Kartik has completed his 18 years in International and he will play the role of a finisher at No.6.

Axar replaced Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is out due to knee surgery. Axar Patel will be a replacement who has to play that spin bowling all-rounder’s role in the team. His career economy increased in the West Indies series. Axar will be crucial for india In World Cup. India’s bowling attack will be led by the best Jasprit Bumrah, everybody missed him in Asia Cup. Along with him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the part of team. The  country’s best spinner in T20, Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh will add more weight to the bowling attack. Harshal Patel will add more variations in the bowling attack.
