Know all about Barclay, here Sachin Singh Nov 12, 2022 09:36 GMT ICC Chairman: Greg Barclay was unanimously elected by the ICC board to serve a second two-year term as the Independent Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). After Tavengwa Mukuhlani withdrew from the election, Barclay was not challenged, and the board gave its full support for him to serve as chair for an additional two years. In response to being reappointed, Greg Barclay said: "It is an honour to be re-elected as the Chair of the International Cricket Council and I would like to thank my fellow ICC Directors for their support.” Also Read: T20 World Cup 2022: ICC changes important rule before ENG vs PAK clash in finale | Details here In Melbourne on Saturday, during an ICC board meeting, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) chairman Dr. Tavengwa Mukuhlani announced his withdrawal from the election. Barclay had support from board and BCCI The 17-member Board included more than a dozen directors who supported Barclay, including the powerful Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Barclay needed just a simple majority to be deemed elected. I, therefore, decided to withdraw my candidacy.” Who is Greg Barclay? Barclay, a lawyer from Auckland, was first chosen to serve as the ICC Chair in November 2020. He served as a director for the 2015 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup and previously served as the chairman of New Zealand Cricket (NZC).
