FIH Men's World Cup: New Zealand knock out hosts India

FIH Men's World Cup: New Zealand defeat India in latter's must-win game to knock out hosts from the ongoing FIH Men's Hockey World Cup on Sunday at the Khalinga International Stadium in Bhubneshwar. The hosts are no longer part of the tournament despite a huge supports from the home crowd.

Loss amid huge home support

More than 15,000 people were present at the Kalinga Stadium, supporting their team.

India earned as many as 11 penalty corners and converted two of them while New Zealand got just two penalty corners but still, it a case of ample of goal-scoring moments where New Zealand looked much better.

India's poor run vs New Zealand

India's position in the points table was also not pretty well after giving New Zealand to come back from two-goal deficit in the regulation time as the match ended at 3-3 in the regulation time.

While New Zealand will now face Belgium who are the defending champions and also the top contenders in the tournament.
