FIFA World Cup: Doha's Lusail Stadium hosted one of the greatest sporting games in history. It was one of the most hard-fought finales from both sides. Argentina were on their nerves as they were mounted on huge pressure to get Lionel Messi that FIFA Cup.

Argentina have won the FIFA World Cup after 36 years and Messi said a perfect goodbye in his last match. Argentina scored four times in the penalty shootout while France just cleared the goalpost twice.

At the end of the full-time play the teams were locked two all and both the teams added a goal apiece in the extra time to make it three all and take the title clash into a penalty shoot-out.

In the extra-time, Messi scored a goal in the 109 minutes to give Argentina the lead but later Mbappe completed his FIFA World Cup hat-trick to bring the score to 3-3.

Post-match from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted and congratulated the Argentina team.

"This will be remembered as one of the most thrilling Football matches! Congrats to Argentina on becoming #FIFAWorldCup Champions! They’ve played brilliantly through the tournament. Millions of Indian fans of Argentina and Messi rejoice in the magnificent victory!" wrote PM Modi on Twitter.

French President was also present at the Lusail Stadium to witness the final.
