Indian cricketer KL Rahul is an integral part of the Indian team as is one of the best batsmen in the world. Even while struggling for form, he remains one of the most talented batsmen out there.

That is why when rumors of his retirement started floating around, it sent everyone into a state of shock. Fans did not believe what they were hearing and thought it was a decision taken too early.

The rumors started floating after Rahul stated that he had an 'announcement to make' on his Instagram story. This story triggered a huge wave of speculation on social media.

An Announcement To Make

The story and announcement could be completely unrelated to cricket as many cricketers use these kinds of stories to promote a new brand deal or a product deal. This story could be the same.

But as soon as the wicketkeeper uploaded the story, some fake quotes started floating around the internet. The quotes were edited by some accounts and stated that Rahul is taking retirement.

KL Rahul Replies Back

The Indian wicket-keeper did not reply to the rumors directly but has shut down all the rumors. Earlier today, a video was posted on social media that saw the right-handed batsman practicing for the upcoming Duleep Trophy season.

He will also be an integral part of the home test season that the Indian team is about to embark upon. With the comeback of Rishabh Pant, Rahul might be relieved of his wicket-keeping duties for India and can now focus completely on batting.

Rahul will be part of Team A in Duleep Trophy with Shubman Gill captaining the side.
