Cricket Viral Video: KL Rahul has been an exceptional batsman for India over the past decade, with a remarkable track record. While he experienced a dip in form in recent years, his earlier performances were nothing less than extraordinary. In 2016, he even notched up a century against West Indies in the USA in just 46 balls. However, despite his stellar performance, the Men in Blue ended up losing the match by a single run.

KL Rahul's heroic batting

On August 27, 2016, during the India-West Indies tour of the United States of America (USA), the first Twenty20 international match of a 2-match series took place at Lauderhill in Florida. In this inaugural T20I of the series, Indian opener KL Rahul showcased a remarkable performance by scoring an unbeaten 110 runs from just 51 balls. His innings comprised 12 fours and 5 sixes, boasting a striking strike rate of 215.68. However, despite Rahul's outstanding efforts, India narrowly missed victory, accumulating 244-4 in their allotted 20 overs, falling short of the West Indies' formidable total of 245 in this high-scoring contest.

KL Rahul achieved a remarkable milestone by scoring a century in a mere 46 balls, which equalled the record for the joint second-fastest century in T20 internationals. Additionally, he surpassed the previous record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian batsman, previously held by Suresh Raina, who accomplished the feat in 59 balls against South Africa in Gros Islet in 2010.

KL Rahul's incredible knock of 110* in the match was marred by a heart-wrenching moment on the last ball when two runs were needed for victory, but MS Dhoni couldn't secure the required runs, leading to India's agonizing one-run loss. At the time, Rahul's score was the highest by an Indian batter in T20Is until Virat Kohli surpassed it in 2022.
