This unique incident occurred during a cricket match between the South African cricket team and the country's rugby side in the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup in 2014.

In a thrilling and unexpected moment, Dale Steyn temporarily halted his run-up in the middle of a game to approach former South African rugby star Victor Matfield, who was at the crease, and took a photo with him. Both Steyn and Matfield shared the memorable image on their respective social media platforms.

Throughout his illustrious 15-year career, Dale Steyn showed his remarkable skills in 93 Test matches, 125 ODIs, and 47 T20Is. He remains the record holder for the highest number of wickets taken by a South African bowler in Test cricket, with an impressive tally of 439 wickets at an average of 22.95. Among pacers, Steyn ranks fifth in terms of the most Test wickets, following James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Glenn McGrath, and Courtney Walsh.
