Cricket Viral Video: Clueless ! Legendary Pakistani batter Ijaz Ahmed's hilarious dismissal sparks up the internet

Cricket Viral Video: Ijaz Ahmed, a batsman for Pakistan on their 1996 tour of England, played what may go down as the worst shot in the history of the sport just minutes after the Test series began. At Lord's, Pakistan, captained by Wasim Akram, chose to bat first after winning the toss. Aamer Sohail, the opening batsman for the visitors, was out LBW to England debutant Simon Brown with only seven runs scored.

Ijaz Ahmed's hilarious dismissal

Much more people will remember the second wicket. Dominic Cork bowled Ahmed, who was batting at number three, in a way that is uncommon even in village cricket, let alone at a Lord's Test. When a Cork inswinger pitched in line with the stumps and finally hit middle, Ijaz disastrously missed the trajectory and planted his front foot wide outside off stump.

Ijaz was in such a terrible position that he didn't even try to bat on the ball, thus the ball simply shot straight into middle stump. After a rocky start, Pakistan came back to win the Test, in large part because to Inzamam-ul-218 Haq's runs scored during the match.

The quality of the batting makes the removal even more perplexing. Ahmed's Test career would come to an end with 12 test hundreds and a batting average that was slightly under 40. He was in the midst of a four-year career high in 1996; from the beginning of 1995 until the conclusion of 1998, he averaged 46.

After the "shot" on the first day at Lord's, he recovered to knock a crucial 76 in the second innings. He would end the series with an average that was just under 70, surpassing 50 in each of the innings before being finally struck out. Ahmed scored the most runs for Pakistan in the drawn Headingly Test, with 141. The series was ultimately won by Pakistan 2-0.
