Cricket Viral Video: Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicketkeeper-batsman for Bangladesh, had an unfortunate dismissal when he inadvertently kicked the stumps while trying to prevent the ball from hitting them in Mirpur.

Mushfiqur Rahim's unfortunate dismissal

After Bangladesh struggled at 35-3 in the initial powerplay while setting a target in the third ODI against New Zealand, Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain Shanto notched up the partnership and provided stability. However, as they appeared to have overcome the early setbacks and reached a score of 88-3, an unfortunate yet amusing dismissal disrupted their progress.

In the 15th over, New Zealand captain Lockie Ferguson delivered an in-swinging delivery that angled back sharply after landing on a good length. Mushfiqur Rahim attempted to play a defensive shot with a gentle touch, but the ball found its way past his bat after grazing the inside edge. As the ball ricocheted back towards the stumps, the 36-year-old instinctively tried to kick it away to avoid getting bowled. In doing so, he accidentally dislodged the stumps and looked in disbelief before departing for 18 runs off 25 balls.

New Zealand secured a seven-wicket victory, clinching the series 2-0 and ending their 13-year losing streak in Bangladesh. They had previously lost 0-4 in 2010 and 0-3 in 2013. Will Young was named the Player of the Match for his impressive innings of 70 runs off 80 balls, which played a key role in helping New Zealand successfully chase the target of 172 in 34.5 overs.
