Bangladesh vs India: KL Rahul's injury adds heache, Vikram Rathour optimistic on skipper's availability

Bangladesh vs India: India's stand-in skipper KL Rahul suffered a blow on his hand while batting in the practice session on the eve of the second Test match vs Bangladesh. However, batting coach Vikram Rathour is a bit optimistic of Rahul's availability in the final Test starting Friday.

India lead series 1-0

India registered a big win over Bangladesh in the first Test by 188 runs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram last week. KL Rahul and company will now aim to take the series by winning the second game.

India are touring Bangladesh without regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who is unavailable due to an injured left thumb.

"It doesn't (look serious). He seems to be fine. Hopefully, he'll be okay. The doctors are looking at it, but hopefully, he'll be okay," said Rathour in the pre-match press conference.

Who will lead India in Rahul's absence?

If Rahul misses, the second Test then, the vice-captain for this tour Cheteshwar Pujara is likely to lead the team.

When it comes to replacing Rahul, Abhimanyu Easwaran could get his spot as an opener. Abhimanyu has been in solid form in the domestic circuit and was also a member of India's Test squad on their tour of England last year.
